In Canada, it's incredibly important to recognize the deep and ongoing impact of colonization on Indigenous communities as we strive for reconciliation. Today, September 30, a day dedicated to reflection and remembrance, it's vital to acknowledge the significance of understanding our shared truths.

September 30 is a time dedicated to honor the resilience of Indigenous peoples and to confront the painful legacies that continue to affect communities. Engaging in meaningful reflection allows us to learn from the past, understand the present, and actively participate in the healing journey toward a more equitable future for all. Action must not be practiced just today, but be incorporated into all that we do.

Reconciliation is a continuous process of building relationships based on respect, understanding, and collaboration. By committing to this journey, we can foster deeper connections with Indigenous cultures, learn about their histories, and contribute to a more inclusive society.

In nature, we experience a beautiful sense of care and support; the Earth gives us everything we need to thrive. As we reflect on this, let’s consider how we can extend that same love, respect, kindness, and courage to one another. Embracing these values is an essential part of our journey toward truth and reconciliation. A culture of compassion & understanding contributes to creating communities where everyone feels valued and connected.

I wonder what you may do?
